After what felt like forever........
A FOOLS FORTUNE game is released to the public! ...(art by me, aka Joshua J Stewart)
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/133671/a-fools-fortune
here are a few images from the game, I started working on it in 2011 and finished the card art up around march, then I revised until around june....so its taken a while to get published. Sadly due to a few miscommunications between myself and the publisher, I didn't do the cover or the graphic design, just the card art. even though I would have loved to do everything. but oh well, the cards look great anyway. So everyone, please buy a copy of it. so it will do very well and they will hire me again! HA! if you do I will even sign the art if see me.

Here is an image I was asked to critique for the Game I am working on for Foreverinteractive, the image is from one of the artist on my team, Casey Cebulski the card he is working on is called Slayer of Giants. As the Jr. Art Director part of my job is critiquing images for the game and giving feedback to the other artists, making sure we have the best images we can for the games release. I think you can tell which image is the original and which is my critique.

Here is the WIP I have been working on for the Hell Spawn card, I need to work some more on the background also I was planing on putting some flames at the bottom like he is coming out from the fire. I need to work on the wing shapes and some values in a few areas. As well as other little tweaks. I started with an oil on canvas painting for this one, and then I decided I didn't want to wait for the paint to dry any more so I took a photo of it and started working in photoshop. I guess I just don't have enough patience sometimes.
the 3d model for the Game turned out a little different from what I originally drew up for the concepts, but thats how it goes sometimes, the 3d model in the game looks closer to the character I'm doing for this card.

Well I might be updating my blog much more often, Foreverinteractive is having trouble with the image upload site we have been using, so I may be posting some images here to connect to the developer forms to be able to help the team of artist I supervise. I'm the Jr. Art director at Foreverinteractive, and part of my job is helping the team of concept artists and illustrators know what direction to go with their art and concepts, so here is a speed painting I did to help one of the artists know what direction to take his card illustration. hope you like it, and I hope it works to help him along.

Wow. I am a horrible bloger, its months and months between posts. I have started my MFA program at the Academy of Art, I think that is where all my time has been going lately. I started in September and I'm in 3 classes, landscape painting, portrait painting, and Situation and environment. This Spider card isn't from any of the classes its just for fun. all of my MFA clases right now are oil painting. I might upload some here later. but for now you'll just have to enjoy this monster. I am growing a lot from going back to school. I'm using atmospheric perspective that they keep hammering at us in my landscape class and I'm trying to pay better attention to shadow shapes (that is from Portrait painting) hope everyone is doing great. please let me know what you thing about the "Void Spider" here.
