I don't know Ann, Harry potter would make a crap load of money no matter when it was released and I think that part of the reason they moved the release date was the fear that the Vampire movie would take some viewers away from the 6th movie of Harry. but I'm with you, they most likely felt the movie would do better in the summer...crazy greedy people...don't they know I want to watch it now??...anyhoo here is another painting, I was real pleased with the border I think it turned out kinda cool. the writing on the scroll says "the deeds of the saints 7" in Latin, I liked the way it sounded so i put it on.

Harry Potter!!! I was so annoyed that they decided to move the release date from this November to next summer. and all because some romantic vampire movie is coming out in November! like it stands a chance against Harry Potter. So this is my tribute to Book 7 and Harry's escape from Privet drive.

hello everyone... here are two logos I made for Challas Id high school, they were fun to draw. they wanted a male and a female viking so there could be equal opportunity for everyone. I tried to make them as non-violent as possible being for a high school and all, but I had to go for a sword with the Girl Viking-et. I haven't done anything in just black and white for a long time. I usualy always go for the entire-full-color painting now a-days. so it was nice to just draw something to a finish.

New website up and going

Ha! my new website is finally up and running! you can visit it at the link off to the side. I have a few quirks to work out like shrinking some of the images to get them to load quicker but that wont be hard now that i have everything else uploaded. so check it out and tell me what you think, and I should be posting more often now that the site is done and I'm back off of summer break.

Its been a while sense my last post I've been running all over since I've graduated. I've been playing around with friends and i went to visit family its been a lot of fun but I've not been on my computer much. I've been sketching some and painting a little. here is a new poster I have been working on. its been fun its not as refined as some of my posters but it was fun to do. I have been working on a new web site a lot lately too its almost done. hopefully I'll have the new website up and running sometime before next month Ive had my super-computer-friend-Larry helping me by writing all the code for the new site based on my design, thanks Larry. Ill have a new post when i finally get my new web site up so everyone can go over and see it.
but its not ready yet so you'll just see my old site if you go look now. the old site wasn't too bad but it was thrown together very quick so i would have something to show when i went to new York last summer. so now that ive had more time i hope the new site will look more professional

Hey Check out the illustrators partnership link on my page here (its under the cool illustrators links) and send a letter to the senators about the orphan act its a messed up bill that will take the copy right protection away from artists and let anyone infringe on the copy right without any real penalty. the link to the letter is on the main page and i think it is a good idea for artist to let the government know its a bad idea.

also you can check out Marcelo Vignali's blog (its under the same illustrators links as the partnership) there is a massive debate going on over there about the orphan act and its really interesting, check it out

more BFA stuff

here are some images from my senior show. a few CD designs and a poster. Static-X was one of my favorite posters to work on. It was a lot looser than the other posters and it was a lot of fun to paint so fast and not so refined as the other posters in my show.

rocket ship

my BFA show is coming up! it opens this coming Thursday. and the exhibit reception is Friday the 28th. its exiting! even though i'm stressed and pressed for time i still had some time to sketch some and i've had a lot of inspiration since i went to LA and visited all the amazing artists there in LA and at Sony and dream works. so here is a rocket ship because the sky is the limit.

I made it in to the Society of Illustrators Student show this year with this poster I am real exited. Its funny because its not one of my favorite posters, i it made for my bfa show and some of the other posters I liked alot better like the Hendrix poster and the weev poster i also liked the voodoo poster better but thats how it gos some people like some images and not others its cool how everyone has there own unique opinion.

this is part of my BFA project I love music so I'm making posters and CD covers of bands I like, and some I made up.

this is a political assignment we were to make an image about the presidential election
sense I didn't like any of the candidates i went for a faceless candidate, you can probably guess who it is.

i was originaly going to put text on to this image but i havent goten around to it yet but it was going to say " when the dust setteled the wolf was dead."

i went all the way back to the original sketch and took out the figure completely i think it works better, but i think ill work on it a little more and move the wolf back away from the cape.

red

the cropped image was my original idea. but i decided to put in the full figure, i cant decide which works better.... my roommate wanted it to be cropped right next to her face on the edge, but i refused. dose it drive anyone else crazy when someone who has no visual eye or artistic background come to you and tell you that you need to do something that would look like crap? thats what he did, he had all these ideas "to really improve the picture" in his own words. the cropping wasn't the only suggestion but it was the least idiotic, and to top it all off i didn't even ask for the opinion or show him the image he just came up while i was working and started talking... drives me crazy.

this semester is my first semester for BFA, and my BFA project is based off of this image. its called voodoo for my project im making concert/rock posters, with Accompanying cd cases, should be fun.
